John Cox, Chair

John Cox has lived in Salisbury since 1979 when he became Head of English, later Assistant Headteacher, at Bishop Wordsworth’s School where he directed over thirty dramatic productions. He retired in 2010 and in the same year joined the Board of La Folia, becoming Chair in 2017.

He is Patron of the Anglo-Tanzanian charity EdUKaid, and has been Vice Chair of Sarum St. Michael Educational Charity, Chair of the Association of Church College Trusts and a member of the editorial board of Sarum Chronicle.

Lucy Salisbury

Lucy Salisbury

Lucy Salisbury had a career as an Arts Education specialist, designing and leading innovative and inclusive education projects for major independent and public art galleries, museums and collections. These include the British Museum, the National Gallery, The Royal Collections Trust, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Whitworth, Manchester, Chatsworth House and the Folkestone Triennial.

In 2000, Lucy was invited to set up an education programme at the New Art Centre Sculpture Park and Gallery. This led to establishing The Roche Court Educational Trust (RCET), which Lucy headed for ten years. In 2010 Lucy co-founded ARTiculation, the national public speaking and art appreciation programme engaging with over 6,000 young people a year which in 2021 was adopted and now run by the National Gallery.

After retiring from ARTiculation Lucy gained horticultural qualifications and has built up a new career in Social Therapeutic Horticulture. Current projects include working with the national charity ‘Learning through Landscape’, The Salisbury Cathedral Eco youth club, and The Cranborne Chase landscape partnership. In 2019 she co -founded and jointly runs ‘Curious Curators’, an art history and landscape curriculum based programme for primary schools.

Lucy’s volunteer roles include being a Governor of Wyvern St Edmunds secondary Academy school  where she was the lead governor for (SEND) Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, (PP)Pupil Premium and (PDHW) pupil’s personal development, health and wellbeing (2017-2022). A founding trustee for Salisbury youth club ‘The Unit’ (2012-2015) and on the board of The Salisbury Arts Centre (2010-2015).

Lucy remains an active Trustee of RCET.

Current volunteer roles include being a youth worker for The Salisbury Cathedral Eco youth programme, regular helper for the Wilton RDA and a member of the Salisbury Street Pastors team.

Louise Govier

Louise Govier

Louise joined the La Folia board in 2018. She first ‘discovered’ La Folia when she was commissioned by Salisbury Festival to research arts organisations in the area that were offering opportunities to young people, and in recent years she has been a member of the Festival Chorus. From 2016 to 2020, Louise was National Trust General Manager for Mottisfont and SW Hants Group. She is now Chief Executive of Artswork, a charity working to empower children and young people through arts and culture. Louise is an experienced learning and participation professional with a background in museums and galleries.

Rebecca Harwood Lincoln

Rebecca Harwood Lincoln

Rebecca is a Business Advisor and Company Director for Harlin Limited helping start-ups and small and medium sized companies with their brand strategy and business growth.  In this role she also works as a Monitor for the European Innovation Council, working with senior European business leaders applying for EU funding for their business projects, recommending whether multi-million Euro funding should continue or not.

Having worked in the eyewear industry for nearly 30 years Rebecca has in-depth knowledge of domestic and export sales and marketing, having opened new markets for numerous companies and brands.

Her non-executive director roles include being a board member of Teign Housing.  She is the Chair of Governors at Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury which is the 4th school where she has been a governor over the past 22 years.  In addition to this Rebecca is a Trustee of EdUKaid (an award-winning education charity), a volunteer Usher at Wiltshire Creative, and a former Trustee of Salisbury Area Young Musicians.

Charlotte Bott

Charlotte Bott

Charlotte has a parallel career in music and social work. Charlotte has worked as a music leader with Open Up which is a music charity specialising in inclusive disabled led orchestras in special needs schools, creating instruments which are accessible to individual needs. Charlotte was an advocate for Drake Music London following working with them for many years at school.  She is an Arts Award Advisor and has lectured at the Unversity of Bristol on inclusive music practice.

Charlotte was a member of the ParaOrchestra before leaving to pursue Social Work.  Since then she has become a member of Resound, one of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s ensembles, which was the first disabled led professional ensemble in the UK.

Charlotte is a Senior Social Worker specialising in safeguarding, disability, socioeconomic and environmental equality.
