Support

La Folia brings live music making of the highest calibre to people who otherwise might not have the opportunity to experience it. We are especially dedicated to working in special needs settings, as well as mainstream education, festivals, organisations and communities.

“The power of music to waken the soul! To see these very special children being so lovingly involved in music making was a real privilege for me. The joy and enthusiasm of the most severely disabled was humbling. The work that you all do for these precious children is an inspiration to all teachers everywhere.” Head Teacher, Broad Chalke Primary School

With your generous support, these projects will evolve and grow to reach new heights. Whether you are an individual wishing to make a donation or an organisation seeking sponsorship opportunities, your support is invaluable to our continuing efforts to deliver exceptional projects and performances to the widest possible audience.

La Folia Music Ltd is a registered charity, No 1121049, which accepts donations and legacies for the purpose of continuing its work.

Support our 2018 projects: Continuing Songs and Sei Solo

“He can’t talk; the words only come when he sings” said Sebastien of a fellow student during the 2017 pilot phase of Continuing Songs.

In a society where “going it alone” seems to be creeping into every pore, it feels ever more important to ensure that the most vulnerable young people find an outlet through which they can express their own power, feelings and needs, and experience a sense of togetherness. For La Folia, our work with special needs groups has become one of our most potent responsibilities.

Sei Solo and Continuing Songs are currently in development for 2018: Sei Solo is a Bach inspired collaboration which will challenge pupils’ sense of solitude and separation. The project will offer pupils the chance to express positive and negative emotion around being alone – a very present sense for these young students with a range of social, mental and physical health difficulties. Continuing Songs will focus on older students making an album of their own songs, producing it professionally, selling it themselves, and equipping them with some life skills as they prepare to leave the nurturing environment of Wiltshire College.

We have a combined fundraising target of £40,000 for Sei Solo and Continuing Songs in 2018. We are working to secure this from a range of public funding, private trusts and foundations as well as individual donations. Reaching this target will allow us to continue this invaluable work in Exeter House School and Wiltshire College, and to broaden the scope and impact of the projects.
